css frameworks - not all bloat
In meta
up to now, when i wrote html&css, i'd either use less or scss to make my stylesheets. mostly because the bootstraps and the tailwinds are massive extra crap to add to a very basic site ... plus ... you know me ... i like to get my hands REALLY dirty. but then, i stumbled on SimpleCSS once more and ... well ... yer looking at the result.
i did a dirt simple html page just using the basic SimpleCSS and it looked so impressive that i had to bring that over to the blog and experiment with it ...
the place i stumbled on this was actually on the fedi ... and while i have some issues with what the site is trying to do, i did appreciate the refresher...
so, i guess in lieu of actually writing something personal or doing proper work, i am styling blog ... again ... and the PDA is out in full force... i really need to figure out how to work around that cos it's getting pretty hard to get anything done.
side note: the new living room furniture came yesterday and i've been in the recliner since it came ... well, except for when i went to bed, of course ... and it's not quite the same ... i don't sink in the same way but that's to be expected ... the other recliner is decades old and this is brand new ... it's also leather, not cloth, so it'll feel different for sure ... but i am actually enjoying being directly in front of the tv and not having to constantly readjust (the old one is so old that it doesn't quite work the same way anymore) or scare casper everytime i get up with the squeaky gears and whatnot ... the downside, of course, is that casper is still wary of new things and so he's been giving it a wide berth anyway. eh ... eventually he'll calm down.
and i guess since we're adding updates, i might also mention that i've been playing a lot of Avowed too ... it's been a while since i've played a proper RPG (where your choices actually affect outcomes) and i've been enjoying it ... a lot ... but i am tired and i can feel the PEM just lingering on the periphery... so, i am forcing myself to take a break ...
